Teacher Training Options

The Yogi Perogi is a Registered Yoga School (RYS) through the Yoga Alliance which is the largest non-profit organization that represents the yoga community to hold high quality, safe, accessible and equitable yoga practices. The Yogi Perogi is certified to teach the following:

  • 200RYT -consider this your Bachelor's degree for yoga
  • 300RYT- consider this your Master's degree for yoga
  • RYPT (Prenatal)- This is an 85 hour training and you must have your 200RYT to complete
  • Aerial Yoga 1 & 2
  • SUP Yoga

200RYT Yoga Teacher Training

Are you interested in diving deeper into yoga? The 200RYT training is perfect for those that are interested in developing their personal practice and/or for those that are interested in teaching yoga. During the training, the teacher trainees will learn the following:

  • The different styles of yoga
  • Pranayama techniques
  • Meditation methods
  • Sequence and teach classes
  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Physiology of yoga, lifestyle and ethics
  • Business of yoga
  • Practice teaching
  • Practicum (written exam and teaching a class)
  • Mentor program

The focus of the yoga teacher training will be mainly vinyasa focused, but will cover other styles of yoga which may include restorative, yin, Ashtanga and prenatal. There will be homework and personal practice that is required between each taught module. We also will supply a mentor during this training with a chance for one on one teaching and learning experiences. From beginning to end of the training, individuals will be able to take UNLIMITED yoga classes at Yogi Perogi.

 

200RYT Yoga Teacher Training

Before embarking on your 200RYT with the Yogi Perogi it is important that you have taken classes at the studio to make sure that you like our style before investing in yourself and our training.

During this 200 hour yoga teacher training you will learn about the following:

  • Different styles of yoga

  • Pranayama techniques

  • Meditation methods

  • Demonstrating and sequencing a class

  • Anatomy & Physiology

  • Philosophy of yoga, lifestyle and ethics

  • Business of yoga

  • Practice Teaching

  • Practicum (written exam and teaching a class)

  • Mentor program

 

This training will mainly be a vinyasa focus but will cover other styles of yoga to include restorative, yin, Ashtanga and prenatal. This training is Yoga Alliance Certified and whether or not you decide to teach yoga; you will walk away with the confidence to teach, to practice, and to create sequences for a group or home practice.
We will meet 9 weekends. There will be homework and personal practice in between each module.

It is required to have at least 6 months of yoga practice prior to this training. There is also a required reading list prior to the start of the training.

*There will be makeup times if you miss a day/weekend module.

You will also have a mentor during this training with one on one teaching/learning experience.

Payment plans are available. Total tuition ranges from $2800-$3000.

300RYT Yoga Teacher Training

This training is to build on your current 200RYT. Our training is recognized through Yoga Alliance. You have to take an X amount of hours that focuses on teaching, personal practice, philosophy, anatomy, lifestyle and ethics. In order to gain these hours, we offer individual courses that are offered throughout the year. We have individual courses that range from 3-7 days. Examples of some courses that we offer(ed). Check out our calendar of Events to see what courses are being offered next. You can receive your 300RYT in one year or it can take as long 2 years. We do not recommend taking longer than that.

  • 5 Day- The Art of Teaching and Sequencing Backbends

  • 5 Day- The Art of Teaching and Sequencing Inversions

  • 5 Day- The Art of Teaching and Sequencing Arm Balances

  • 3 Day- Aerial Yoga Level 1 Training

  • 3 Day- Aerial Yoga Level 2 Training

  • 3 Day- In Depth Study of the Bhagavad Gita

 

Aerial Teacher Training Level 1

Aerial Yoga Level 1 will give you an understanding of basic yoga postures while utilizing the aerial hammock in a safe manner.

If you have an aerial silk at home but not familiar with how to practice with one, this training will bring you the confidence and understanding you need.

If you are interested in teaching others how to practice an aerial yoga class, you will learn effectively how to teach a class and assist where necessary.

After one intensive weekend, you will not only experience Aerial Yoga and Restorative Yoga, you will have a clear understanding of how to teach and practice the foundation postures which include basic inversions as well.

This training is a 3 Day Intensive training. Part of your training includes Aerial Yoga, Aerial Vinyasa and Aerial Restorative. You must take at least 4 of these classes (each one at least once) during a month span. 

 This training also counts as CE credits towards Yoga Alliance

Aerial Teacher Training Level 2

Aerial Yoga Teacher Training Level 2 is the following series from Level 1. Now that you have the foundation postures, you will learn various progressions and dive deeper into more advanced postures for a stronger practice and learn to sequence. There will be plenty of hands on exercises to help assist and spot when necessary. 

This training is a 3 Day Intensive training


Aerial Teacher Training Level 1 is a prerequisite before you can take Aerial Teacher Training Level 2.

Prenatal/Postnatal Training 3 Modules

You do not need to be a Yoga teacher, or even want to teach yoga to take this training. If you are pregnant or just had your baby, Congratulations! Maybe you just want to learn more about what to expect before delivery and what you can do to make your pregnancy a little easier.

This training consists of three modules and counts towards your Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training Certificate (85 hours) recognized by Yoga Alliance.

RYTs: This training counts toward Continuing Education and the hours can be contributed towards your 300RYT at The Yogi Perogi Registered Yoga School
